Cade-Wiles Family History
This is a most facinating family history and many a long hour pouring over census, birth, marriage and death records to put the pieces of this puzzle together. I had to order many certificates from the Public Records Office in England to verify the information I put before you.
A Little History.......My Great Great Grandmother's name was Mary Elizabeth Wiles b. 2 Oct 1839 and christened 17 Oct 1839 in Eltisley, Cambridgeshire, England.
Robert Wiles b. abt 1772 in Elsworth, Cambridgeshire, England he married Catherine Chaplin Chr. 15 Jun 1777 in Elsworth, Cambridgeshire on 26 Dec 1797 in Elsworth.
1) John Sylvester Oliver Wiles b. 10 Dec 1799, Eltisley, Cambs, d. 5 Jan 1865 in Caxton, Cambs and is buried at the Eltisley Church
Cemetery in Eltisley, he married a woman named Sarah b. 1801, Buckden, Huntingdonshire, d. 15 Nov 1884, Eltisley, Cambs and is
also buried at the Eltisley Church Cemetery.
1) Mary Elizabeth Wiles b. 2 Oct 1830, Eltisley, Cambs, chr. 17 Oct 1839, Eltisley, Cambs. d. Mar Quarter 1910 in Caxton, Cambs.
she had a son Joshua George Oliver Wiles born out of wedlock, 20 Apr 1860 in Eltisley he remained with his Grandparents.
Mary Elizabeth went on to have,
2) Charlotte Cade Wiles b. Mar Quarter 1863 in Eltisley, Cambs

5) Thomas Cade b. 23 Jan 1872, Eltisley, Cambs
6) Jane Cade Wiles b. Mar Quarter 1875, Eltisley, Cambs.
7) Alice Wiles b. 9 Apr 1878, Eltisley, Cambs. d. 1941, Worthing Sussex, England ( Brace )
8) Sarah Cade b. 1881, Eltisley, Cambs.
On the 24 Nov 1878 at Eltisley, Cambs, Mary Elizabeth Wiles married Thomas Cade b. 6 Jul 1828, Eltisley, Cambs d. Mar Quarter 1899
Caxton, Cambridgeshire, England.
The reason this family was so facinating to research is that the first three children were registered with the surname Cade Wiles, Thomas
was registered with the surname Cade.
Alice was registered with the surname Wiles and Sarah who was born after the marriage was registered with the surname Cade.
This has made finding other family members very difficult. With much perserverence and a probable stepping on toes, I was able to find
" cousins " in various parts of England and one in Pennsylvania.
My intension is not to judge, how we got here and the circumstances which helped us get here is not as important as the fact that we
are here and our family history is a part of who we are.
