Sarah and  Edward were living in Brewer, Maine when she took ill with  Tuberculosis, in March 1927.
In a letter from Edward to his father Roderick MacIntosh he Edward  he tells how ill she was and that there was no hope for her. She was so homesick for her family in Glace Bay that they thought the only thing they could do for her was to send her home.
Sarah and Edward had one more son, Roddie , there is no known picture of him. He died when he was about 2 years of age.  I am not sure if he died in Maine or in Glace Bay.
Edward also mentions in his letter that one of the hardest things he had yet to do, was give up his boys. But at that time he thought it was the best he could do for them.   Neil and Jim lived with friends and relatives until they were old enough to live on their own.
