  Captain John Hatfield b.c.1740, England. died 7 May 1805, Fox River, Cumberland Co., Nova Scotia . married Mary Lockerman b. c. 1740, Staten Island, died 1850 in Nova Scotia. According to the book by Abraham Hatfield, F.G.B.S. " Captain John Hatfield: A Genealogy of the Descendants Of Captain John Hatfield, Loyalist", ........he was an officer of the British Army who came to this country before the American Revolution and fought, as a Captain, with the 3rd New Jersey Volunteers, and settled in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia. He married Mary Lockerman on 28 June 1778 in Trinity Church, New York City by the Rev. Charles Inglis, Rector and Chaplin of the 3rd New Jersey Volunteers.

1) Mary ( Polly ) Hatfield b.3 Nov 1779, baptized 8 Apr 1788,Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, buried 27 Feb 1887, Mary was first married to John Vickery on 4 Jan 1802. John passed away and then she married Captain George Newcomb on 20 Dec 1806 ( see Newcomb )

      3) Isaac Newcomb b abt 1811, Port Greville, Nova Scotia married Rebecca Thompson
      4) Mary Ann Newcomb b. 11 Mar 1816, Port Greville, N.S. died 8 May 1875, married Capt James H. Pratt b. 14 May 1811 in Parrsboro,
