The Surname Middlemiss has been spelled, Middlemast, Middlemist ,Middlemiss, and Middlemost, for the purpose of this ancestry I have chose to use only Middlemast and Middlemiss, my Great Grandfather Alexander Middlemiss used Middlemast in his younger years and then Middlemiss when he started his family and then back to Middlemast for the 1930 census for Washington Co., Maine where he passed away.
Little if anything is known at this time about George Middlemast born in England and died in New Brunswick after 1851. He appears in the 1851 census along with his son William, born in England about 1820, died 15 Jun 1885, Littleridge, Charlotte County, New Brunswick.

Ann ( second wife) age 36 born in Scotland. children listed Elisabeth age 17, Margaret age 15,
Hannah age 13, James A. age 11 , Ellen age 10. I beleive these were the children of Williams first wife Elizabeth who probably died in childbirth with Ellen. The next children William age 8, Jane age 5, Robert age 3, and Ann age 10 mos, were children by William's second wife Ann Roy, with Alexander being born in 1866.
